Assam VFA Training Course Details

Name of the Course: VFA Training Course 

For the session: 2024-25

No of Seats: 200 [UR: 102, EWS: 10, MOBC/OBC: 73, SC: 05, ST(P): 10 ]

Educational Qualification: Minimum educational qualification required for admission is HSSLC (Science) passed with Biology as a Subject from the recognized University/ Board as per Rule 8 of “The Assam Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Subordinate Service Rule,2002” as amended up to date vide “The Assam Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Subordinate Service (Amendment) Rules, 2017” published vide Govt. NotificationNo.VFV.155/2013/62 dated06/07/2017.

Age: A candidate should not be less than 18 years and should not be more than 30 years of age as on 01/01/2025. The upper age limit is relaxable for the candidates of reserved categories as per existing provision. However, there is no provision for condonation of age.

• 03 (three) years in case of candidates belonging to OBC/MOBC.
• 05 (five) years in case of candidates belonging to SC, ST (P) & ST (H).

Selection Process of VFA Training Course Admission

As approved by the Government of Assam the following procedure is followed in selection of candidates for admission into the one-year VFA Training Course

After thorough scrutiny of applications, eligible candidates are called for Personnel Assessment Test (PAT) of 100 marks as shown below:

• Percentage of marks in HSSLC Sc with Biology – 40% weightage
• Percentage of marks in HSLC – 20% weightage
• Personnel Assessment Test (PAT) – 40% weightage

Questions are asked about Biology, Physics, Chemistry and General Awareness of state & national importance. Five questions are asked by each member of the Selection Board consisting of 2/3 members daily on a rotational basis. Each question carries 4 marks.

Final merit List is prepared according to total marks obtained (a+b+c) subject to observance of reservation policy.

How to Apply for Assam VFA Training Course Admission

Online Applications are invited from eligible intending candidates of Assam for undergoing one year VFA Training Course in Elementary Knowledge of A.H. & Veterinary Science for the Session 2024-25 at the School of Veterinary Science & A.H. at Ghungoor, Silchar, Assam and its extended campuses need to apply online. The online apply link will be available from 12.00 hrs. of 14th June, 2025 to 23.59 hrs of 13th July, 2025.

• For age proof, HSLC Certificate or Admit Card issued by recognized Board/Council.
• The PRC (Permanent Resident Certificate) issued for Educational Purpose or Receipt of Application for PRC before the Deputy Commissioner’s Office.
• HSLC (or equivalent) Marksheet
• HSSLC (Sc.) Marksheet.
• Recent Passport Size Photograph.
• Scanned Copy of Signature of the Candidate.
• Caste Certificate/EWS Certificate (For the Financial year 2024-25) from competent authority If applying for such category.
• DDO’s Certificate in case of serving Grade-IV employees of the Department
