Pragyan Bharati Scheme 2025

The Government of Assam continues its commitment to promoting higher education through the Pragyan Bharati Scheme. Launched in 2020, this initiative aims to support meritorious students by providing them with scooters to facilitate their educational journey. For the 2025 also Assam Govt. will continue the scheme for the meritorious students who have got 80% or above marks in their respective streams on the HS final Exam Result conducted by Assam State School Education Board(ASSEB).

Eligibility of Pragyan Bharati Scheme 2025

• The students must obtain 80% or more marks in the Higher Secondary Final Examination, 2025 conducted by Assam State School Education Board.
• Only students in the betterment and reappearance category will not be eligible for the scheme.
• Students must be residents of the State of Assam.
• Students admitted in institutions outside the State are also eligible provided they have a valid PRC of Assam.
• It is an application based scheme/programme. No offline applications will be entertained.

Aim of Pragyan Bharati Scheme 2025

• To foster a sense of competitiveness and encourage students to perform better in their studies.
• To motivate students to pursue Higher Education.
• For better mobility of the students for facilitating easy access to higher education.
• Enhancement of Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in the state of Assam.

Merit list of Pragyan Bharati Scheme 2025

The students who have passed the HS Exam 2025 are waiting for the merit list to avail the benefit of Pragyan Bharati Scheme 2025. Directorate of Higher Education, Assam has released the lists of eligible students for Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme as on 11th May 2025. The detail merit lists have been given below.

Distribution Process of Pragyan Bharati Scheme 2025

The process of distribution of scooty under the Pragyan Bharati Scheme 2025 is as mentioned below:

• The list of students with 80% and above marks will be collected from Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB).
• The list of beneficiaries will be uploaded in https://directorateofhighereducation.assam.gov.in/
• The eligible students will fill up an online application form. The link to the online application form will be published by Director of Higher Education in the official website of DHE as mentioned at Para “b” above.
• The Director of Higher Education will notify a list of Nodal Principals for smooth distribution of scooters to eligible beneficiaries.
• The Nodal Principals will be responsible for collecting the Appreciation Certificates from DHE.
• The eligible students will collect Appreciation Certificates from Nodal Principal concerned and submit the same to the allotted dealer.
• The Government will provide the amount for Scooter Registration and Insurance to the Nodal principals. After properly verifying the beneficiary details, the Nodal principals will release the money to the concerned dealer without delay.
• The students will collect the scooters from the dealers concerned. The students will not pay any money to the dealers for cost of registration and insurance.
• The helmet will be provided free of cost to the beneficiary student along with the Scooter. Government will not pay for any accessories.
• In case of a student’s untimely demise, the legal guardian may/ may not choose to collect the scooter.
• The beneficiaries of the Dr. Bani Kanta Kakati Merit Award under Pragyan Bharati scheme shall not be eligible for the Nijut Moina Scheme. However, if any Girl beneficiary opts out of the Banikanta Kakati Award, she can apply for the Nijut Moina Scheme.
