Name of the Post: Food Safety Officer
No of Posts: 16 Posts
Scale of Pay: Rs. 22,000/- – 97,000/-+ Grade Pay Rs. 9,400/- plus other allowances as admissible under the Rules
Educational Qualification:
A degree in Dairy Technology or Biotechnology or Oil Technology or Veterinary Science or Biochemistry or Microbiology or Masters Degree in Chemistry or Degree in Medicine from a recognized University. OR
A Bachelor degree or Masters Degree or Doctorate degree from a recognized University or Institution in the following Disciplines:
Disciplines “Food Technology”:
- Food Engineering.
- Food Engineering and Technology.
- Food Processing and Preservation.
- Food Processing Technology.
- Food Technology & Management.
- Food Bio-Technology.
- Food Plant Operations Management.
- Food Process Engineering & Management.
- Food Processing.
- Food Safety & Quality Management.
- Process & Food Engineering
Disciplines deem to be covered under “Agricultural Science”:
- Agriculture
- Agriculture Engineering.
- Bio-Technology
- Dairy Technology
- Fisheries

Age: A Candidate should not be less than 21 years and not more than 38 years of age as on 01/01/2023 as per Govt. Notification. The upper age limit is relaxable for the candidates of reserved categories are given below:
- 5 years for SC/ST candidates i.e. upto 43 years
- 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates i.e. upto 41 years as per Govt. notification.
- For Persons with Disabilities (PWD) by 10 years irrespective of SC/ST/OBC and General Category of candidates as per Govt. Notification.

Interested and Eligible Candidates need to apply online. Medical and Health Recruitment Board, Assam invites online application in the website https://nhm.assam.gov.in from the intending candidates having Indian citizenship. Online apply link has been given below in the important link section. To visit important link section please scroll down and click on apply online fill the necessary details and upload the required documents to complete the online application process.
Application Fee:
Application must be accompanied with required application fee of
- Rs. 250/- (rupees two hundred fifty) only for General category candidates and
- Rs. 150/- (rupees one hundred fifty) only for OBC/MOBC/SC/ST (P)/ST (H) candidate.
- No application fee is required for candidates having BPL certificate and PWD certificate.
Application fee should be deposited only, through Treasury Challan in the Head of Account “0210- Medical and Public Health-01-Urban Health Services-800-Other Receipt”. The fees are not refundable and no other mode of deposit of fee other than through Treasury Challan, shall be accepted. OR
Fees can be deposited online using Government Receipt Accounting System-GRAS (Website: https://assamegras.gov.in). Candidates may pay the requisites fees (as admissible for the category mentioned above). Printed copy of Treasury Challan generated through GRAS should be submitted at the time of interview. In Remarks column, candidate may write the post applied for.
The last date for receipt of online application will be 20/11/2023. All applicants are advised to visit the website from 05/11/2023.
