National Testing Agency (NTA) has published the official notification of NTA UGC NET 2023 for ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘Junior Research Fellowship & Assistant Professor’ both for the month of December 2023. NTA has opened the online registration for UGC NET December 2023, eligible candidates can apply for the National Eligibility Test through the official website from September 30 to October 28, 2023. The exam will be conducted from December 06 to 22, 2023. The application fee varies for different categories. UGC NET is an eligibility test for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship in Indian universities and colleges. Eligibility Criteria For NTA UGC NET Exam 2023
Educational Qualification:
- General/ Unreserved/ General-EWS candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC (available on the website: www.ugc.ac.in in Humanities and Social Science (including languages), Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science etc. are eligible for this Test.
- Candidates who are pursuing their Master’s degree or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for award of JRF/eligibility for Assistant Professor only after they have passed their Master’s Degree or equivalent examination with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of OBC-NCL / SC / ST / PwD / Third gender category candidates). Such candidates must complete their Master’s degree or equivalent examination within two years from the date of NET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.
Age Limit:
- Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit in applying for UGC-NET for Assistant Professor.
- JRF: Not more than 30 years as on 1st day of the month in which the examination is concluded i.e. 01.12.2023. A relaxation of upto 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third gender categories and to women applicants.

Interested and eligible candidates meeting the prescribed eligibility criteria need to apply online through the official website of National Testing Agency (NTA) Or candidates may apply directly through the link given below in the important link section. The link is available from September 30, 2023 and closing date for online submission of application is October 28, 2023.

- Click on the “Online Application Form” and complete the registration process by clicking “Registration“.
- After completion of registration process active your profile.
- In the next stage, click on “Apply Online” Link and Login.
- Fill your all personal and educational details and upload necessary documents.
- Make the payment of Application Fee
- At the end, submit the form.
- Don’t forget to take a print out of the application form.
Application Fee:
- General: Rs. 1150/-
- EWS/OBC-NCL: Rs. 600/-
- SC/ST/PWD/ Third Gender: Rs. 325/-
