ASSAC Assam Recruitment 2025
Assam State Space Application Centre (ASSAC) has published a recruitment notification regarding recruitment of 06 Project Scientist Posts for carrying out different project activities such as, Development of Mobile App and Customized Web Portal, Fisheries Resource Mapping and Agricultural Assessment, Border Monitoring, Land use/Land cover (LULC) change analysis, Agro-forestry Site Suitability Analysis and Tree Carbon Estimation and Geo-analytics using Satellite Data and AI. ASSAC Assam Recruitment Details
1. Project Scientist
No of Posts: 02 Posts(Agriculture Assessment and Fisheries Resource Mapping)
Remuneration: Rs. 30,000 + Employer’s part of the CPF Contribution per month
Essential Qualification: 1st Class Master Degree in Remote Sensing/Geoinformatics/ Agricultural Science ( with specialization in Agronomy or Soil Science/Geography with specialization in Remote Sensing & Geo-informatics / Zoology with specialization in Fish Biology & Fishery Science or equivalent.
Desirable: Relevant experience in application of remote sensing and GIS with knowledge of Remote Sensing/Geo-informatics/GPS/UAV.
Maximum Age (as on 1st January, 2025): 35 Years.
2. Project Scientist [IT]
No of Posts: 02 Posts(Development of Mobile app and Customized Web Portal)
Remuneration: Rs. 30,000 + Employer’s part of the CPF Contribution per month
Essential Qualification: M. Tech / M.E. / M.C.A/ M. Sc. in Remote Sensing / Remote Sensing and GIS/ Geoinformatics /Computer Science / Information Technology or Equivalent. OR B.E. /B. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering / Information Technology / Geoinformatics / Geomatics or equivalent” with suitable experience.
Desirable: Working Experience with Development of Spatial Decision Support System/ Spatial Data Infrastructure/ Location Based Services/ Big Data Analytics/ Geospatial Dashboard analysis etc. for Geospatial data. Experience in development of Mobile App, Web Portal, Geo Server/ Map Server Implementing AI/ML/DL Based applications, Development of IoT based applications, Development of Dashboard with Data analytics tools, Large Language Models/ Generative Pre Trained Transformers Application, Good Grasp of Programming in C++/JAVA/Python/R, JAVASCRIPT, Knowledge of Hadoop, proficient in Apache Web Server, IIS Configuration, Open Layers, Geoserver/ Map Server, Leaflet, Postage SQL Database, XML and ArcGIS Arcade etc
Maximum Age (as on 1st January, 2023): 35 Years.
3. Project Scientist
No of Posts: 01 Post(Agro-forestry Site Suitability Analysis and Tree Carbon Estimation using Satellite Data)
Remuneration: Rs. 30,000 + Employer’s part of the CPF Contribution per month
Essential Qualification: 1st Class Masters Degree in Forestry/ Botany (with special Paper in Taxonomy/Ecology) having Post Graduate Training in Remote Sensing/Geoinformatics or equivalent. OR M. Tech in Geoinformatics / Remote Sensing & GIS / Spatial Information Science / Geospatial Technology or Equivalent with Experience in Forestry and Ecological Studies.
Desirable: Relevant experience in applications of Remote Sensing and GIS to Forestry and Ecological Studies.
Maximum Age (as on 1st January, 2023): 35 Years.
4. Project Scientist
No of Posts: 01 Post(Projects related Border Monitoring, Land use land cover (LULC) change analysis and Geo-analytics using Satellite Data and AI)
Remuneration: Rs. 54,000 + Employer’s part of the CPF Contribution per month
Essential Qualification: 1st Class M.Sc. /M. Tech in Geoinformatics / Remote Sensing & GIS / Spatial Information Science / Geospatial Technology or Equivalent OR 1st Class B.E. / B. Tech in Civil Engineering with Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS or Geoinformatics or equivalent OR 1st Class M.Sc in Geography/ Earth Science with Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS or Geoinformatics or equivalent
Desirable:
- Experience in satellite data processing (especially Sentinel-1 (SAR) and Sentinel-2 (optical) data).
- Working knowledge of remote sensing and GIS software (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS, SNAP, ERDAS Imagine, ENVI) & Land cover Land use interpretation skill.
- Hands-on experience with Google Earth Engine (GEE) for satellite d ta analysis
- Knowledge of Python / JavaScript for geospatial scripting.
- Familiarity with AI/ML-based geospatial tools for change detection and classification.
- Experience in using or developing Geo Web Portals / Web GIS Applications.
Maximum Age (as on 1st January, 2023): 35 Years.
How to Apply for ASSAC Assam Recruitment
Interested candidates with requisite below mentioned qualification may come up to walk-in-interview for posts of project scientists on contractual basis for a period of 11 months.
The interview will be held on 20th September, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. onwards.
Venue: Assam State Space Application Centre Bigyan Bhawan (3rd floor), G.S. Road, Guwahati – 781005, Assam
Candidates shall have to submit Standard form of Application dully filled-in along with Xerox copies of certificates and other testimonials etc. (self certified) and two passport size photographs at the time of reporting for registration and have to produce the original for verification. Candidates having requisite qualification, experience and training will only be allowed for appearing in the interview.
