Directorate of Forensic Science Assam Recruitment: The Assam Home & Political Department has published a recruitment notification for Directorate of Forensic Science Assam of 20 Scientific Officer and Junior Scientific Officer Posts. The appointment will be purely on Ad-hoc basis for a period of 4(four) months. To be eligible for regular appointment at Directorate of Forensic Science, Assam under Home & Political Department, Govt. Of Assam, a candidate must qualify himself/herself through regular recruitment process. 1. Name of Post: Scientific Officer for Directorate of Forensic Science, Assam

No of Posts: 01

• Explosives Division: 1(One) post

Pay Scale: Pay Band – 4: Rs 30,000/- to Rs.1,10,000/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 12,700/-

Essential Educational Qualification: M.Sc. in Chemistry/Physics

Desirable qualification: 3 years research/analytical experience.

2. Scientific Officer for Regional Forensic Science Laboratories

Number of Post: 12 (Twelve) nos.

Division wise Post Details:

• Instrumentation Division: 3 (Three) posts
• Questioned Documents Division: 2(Two) post
• Drugs and Narcotics Division: 3 (Three) post
• Toxicology Division: 2 (Two) posts
• Biology Division: 1 (One) post
• Serology Division: 1(One) post

Pay Scale: Pay Band – 3: Rs 22,000/- to Rs.97,000/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 11,800/-

• 10(ten) years for Persons with Disability (PWD) candidates i.e. up to 48 years irrespective of SC/ST/OBC and General Category candidates

Selection Process of Directorate of Forensic Science Assam Recruitment

• There will be no written examination for all the above prescribed posts.
• Candidates will be shortlisted and selected on the basis of 70% weightage on academic performance and 30% weightage on viva voce.
• The breakup of the weightage will be:
  • Marks obtained in B.Sc. = 20% weightage
  • If Hons. in B.Sc. = 10 marks
  • M.Sc marks = 30% weightage
  • M.Phil = 5 marks
  • Ph.D = 5 marks
  • Viva-voce = 30 marks
  • Total = 100 marks
