The expected syllabus for Computer Operator exam of Gauhati High Court is General Knowledge, Computer Knowledge, Current Affairs, Numerical Ability, Reasoning Ability and General English. Stage	Description
Stage-1	Written Test (OMR based Objective Type Questions with Multiple Choices) of two hour duration of 120 marks. i) General English (30 marks), General Knowledge (20 marks), Computer Knowledge (30 marks) and General Aptitude (20 marks). ii) Official Language of Assam (Assamese): 20 marks (which will be qualifying in nature, qualifying marks shall be 40% of 20 i.e. 8 marks). Marks obtained in Assamese language segment will not be counted in preparing the merit list of written test.
Stage-2	Candidates in the ratio of 1:10, on the basis of performance in the written test (excluding Assamese language segment), will be called for the computer practical test of 20 marks. The computer practical test will comprise of data entry, DTP works, using utility and application software(s).
Stage-3	Candidates in the ratio of 1:3, on the basis of performance in the computer practical test, will be called for the Interview/ Viva-Voce of 10 marks.
