ASSAM, NORTHEAST CURRENT AFFAIRS

• Rabha Divas observed on 20th June across Assam to pay tributes to the cultural legend, Kalaguru Bishnu Rabha
• DivasBano Haralu, a Journalist and activist from Nagaland,  has been awarded the 2nd Bijoy Krishna Handique Memorial Award for Leadership in Wildlife Conservation in the North Eastern Region, instituted by the Development Foundation of Assam.

• Dr Amarjyoti Kashyap, president ENVIRON  ‘Assam is generating 2,99,000 kg of various types of plastic waste daily, and out of which Guwahati has a share of 37,000 kg. Out of this around 40 per cent, ie. 1,19,600 kg in the whole of Assam and 14,800 kg in Guwahati turn into non-recyclable wastes.’
• Oxfam India launches its emergency response in Assam, Tripura and Manipur. 
• Amongst India’s total 56 regional rural banks (RRBs), The Tripura Gramin Bank has secured 5^th position in terms of its business and growth.
