ASSAM, NORTHEAST CURRENT AFFAIRS
- Health Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma said, ‘A corpus of Rs 1,910 crore has been created under the newly-founded Assam Cancer Care Foundation which is to be set up for cancer patients in 19 districts of the State. Of the fund, Tata Trusts to contribute Rs 830 crore and the State government will provide Rs 1,080 crore’.
- Vice President of India Sri M Venkaiah Naidu laid the foundation stone of the Storm Water Drainage System and Seepage Management System for under the AMRUT scheme at Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh.
- Mr Lakhinarayan Goswami, principal of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya , Hatigarh of Dhemaji district is awarded with the ‘The Best District Principal Award’ for the year 2017-18 by the Academic Council of Science Olympiad Foundation.
- Additional Chief Secretary of Sikkim SC Gupta flagged off the first batch of 33 pilgrims, to Kailash Mansarovar via Nathu La pass in Sikkim
