Assam Agricultural University Recruitment 2018 -Applications in Prescribed Form are invited from intending candidates having requisite Educational Qualification for filling up the post of Project Coordinator, Project Associate, MIS Operator, Accounts Manager, Office Assistant and Project Scientist- (Seed), Project Scientist- (Agronomy), Project Scientist- (IPM), Project Scientist- (Rice Knowledge Bank), Project Scientist- (Post Harvest), Project Scientist- (G1S), Assistant Project Scientist-(Seed/Agronomy/ PH), Assistant Project Scientist-(GIS), Assistant Project Scientist- (IT Expert) and Research Technician on contractual and purely temporary basis under the World Bank financed Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (APART) in the Operational Project Implementation Unit (OPIU) – Assam Agricultural University.

1. Number of Posts: Project Coordinator- OPIU
Number of Posts: 1 at Jorhat
Educational Qualification: Post Graduate Degree (min two years duration) in Agri or allied subjects, from any Govt, recognized University/Institutions.
Required Experience: At least seven years of professional experience working in Agri or allied value chains including farm/project/personnel management. Project Coordinator-APART should have knowledge of agricultural practices, preferably for crops grown in Assam. Project Coordinator-APART should also have basic knowledge of principles of conducting varietal assessments, field trials, seed production including regulatory aspects.
Remuneration: Rs. 11.40 lakh to Rs. 19.20 lakh per year.

2. Number of Posts: Project Associate- AAU
Number of Posts: 21- various locations
Educational Qualification: Post Graduate Degree (min two years duration) in Agri or allied subjects, from any Govt. recognized University/Institutions.
Required Experience: Preference will be given to candidates with professional experience of working in agri value chains including farm management/ managing large scale agricultural production operations and knowledge of agricultural practices, principles of conducting varietal assessments, field trials and seed production.
Remuneration: Rs.4.80 lakh to Rs.6.18 lakhs per year.

3. Number of Posts: MIS Operator- OPIU
Number of Posts: 1 at Jorhat
Educational Qualification: The MIS Operator must possess at least a B. Sc. (IT)/B. Tech, (Computer Science)/Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA)/ three years Diploma in Computer Science or a closely related field;
Required Experience: The MIS Operator should have at least 4 years professional experience (in case the Bachelors degree/diploma is of three years duration) or 3 years experience (in case the Bachelors degree/diploma is of 4 years duration) in the field of MIS in any public/ private sector organization
Remuneration: Rs.2.40 to Rs. 3.00 lakhs per year

4. Number of Posts: Accounts Manager- OPIU
Number of Posts: 1 at Jorhat
Educational Qualification: The AM must possess at least a Degree in Commerce/ Accountancy/ Finance and Accounts or a closely related field from a recognized University/Institute; 
Required Experience: The AM must have at least four vears of professional experience in accounting management in any Public/ Private sector organization.
Remuneration: Rs.4.20 lakh to Rs.6.18 lakhs per year.

5. Number of Posts: Office Assistant-OPIU
Number of Posts: 1 at Jorhat
Educational Qualification: The OA should possess at least a Graduate (minimum three years duration) degree in any field from recognized University/institution. 
Required Experience: The OA must have at least two vears experience in office management/secretarial work in any public or private sector organization
Remuneration: Rs.2.40 to Rs. 3.00 lakhs per year

6. Number of Posts: Project Scientist- (Seed)-AAU
Number of Posts: 1 at Jorhat
Educational Qualification: The Project Scientist must possess Master’s degree in Agriculture, rural development or allied subject.
Required Working Experience: Sufficient professional experience of working in seed sector, preferably of field crops particularly rice.
Remuneration: Rs.4.80 to 5.83 lakhs per year

7. Number of Posts: Project Scientist- (Agronomy)- AAU
Number of Posts: 1 at Jorhat
Educational Qualification: The Project Scientist- Agronomy must possess Master’s degree in Agronomy or Soil science or related field.
Required Working Experience: Preference will be given to candidates with working knowledge of crop and natural resource management and processes for its efficient use. The candidate should have experience and knowledge of latest techniques on rice farming and should be able to work actively in field/outdoor conditions. The candidate should be able to handle the assigned tasks independently and with little guidance. Candidates with experience in providing training on farming practices will have an added advantage.
Remuneration: Rs.4.80 to 5.83 lakhs per year.





8. Name of the Post: Project Scientist- (IPM) -AAU
Number of Posts: 1 at Jorhat and 1 at Guwahati
Educational Qualification: The Project Scientist- IPM must possess M. Sc. (Agriculture) in Plant protection/ Plant Pathology/ Entomology or a closely related field.
Required Working Experience: Sufficient professional experience in management of rice pests and diseases, preferably through IPM and IDM practices respectively. The candidate should also have knowledge of modern practices of pest and diseases management in rice.
Remuneration: Rs.4.80 to 5.83 lakhs per year.

9. Number of Posts: Project Scientist- (Rice Knowledge Bank -AAU
Number of Posts: 1 at Jorhat and 1 at Guwahati
Educational Qualification: The Project Scientist-RKB must possess at least an M.Sc in communications or journalism or agriculture (extension).
Required Working Experience: Preference will be given to candidates with professional experience in designing online content for farming/ agriculture communities and its management, experience of handling knowledge management systems and digital extension platforms etc.
Remuneration: Rs.4.80 to 5.83 lakhs per year

10. Number of Posts: Project Scientist- (Post Harvest) AAU
Number of Posts: 1 at Jorhat
Educational Qualification: The Project Scientist must possess Master’s degree in Agriculture Engineering or related field.
Required Working Experience: Sufficient professional experience on rice post-harvest equipment and processes and its efficient use.
Remuneration: Rs.4.80 to 5.83 lakhs per year

11. Number of Posts: Project Scientist- GIS AAU
Number of Posts: 2 at Jorhat and 2 at Guwahati
Educational Qualification: The Project Scientist-GIS must possess Master’s degree in Remote Sensing or Geography or Agriculture or closely related field.
Required Working Experience: Preference will be given to candidates with working knowledge of technical training in remote sensing and GIS with proven skills in vegetation phenology, and use and land cover change and database management. She/he should have some experience with providing training on farming techniques. An understanding and experience in Tools and software’s of Remote sensing.

12. Number of Posts: Assistant Project Scientist- (Seed/Agronomy/ PH) -AAU
Number of Posts: 15 various locations
Educational Qualification: The APS- Agron/Seed/PHM must possess Bachelor’s degree n Agriculture or Agriculture Engineering or Rural development or related field.
Required Working Experience: Sufficient working experience in the required field including basic Knowledge of agriculture, extension techniques and rice value chain.
Remuneration: Rs.3.6 to 4.37 lakhs per year

13. Number of Posts: Assistant Project Scientist – AAU
Number of Posts: 1 at jorhat and 1 at Guwahati
Educational Qualification: The APS-GIS must possess Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field. However, preference will be given to candidates having degree in GIS/ Remote Sensing related fields.
Required Working Experience: Sufficient experience in handling GIS/ Remote Sensing related work in any public/private sector organization
Remuneration: Rs.3.6 to 4.37 lakhs per year

14. Number of Posts: Assistant Project Scientist- (IT Expert)
Number of Posts: 1 at Jorhat
Educational Qualification: The APS-IT must possess Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or related field.
Required Working Experience: Sufficient professional experience of working with software and hardware packages and their maintenance. Experience of working on network designs, network security and programming would be an added advantage.

15. Number of Posts: Research Technician (Seed/Agronomy/ PH/GIS) AAU
Number of Posts: 52 various locations
Educational Qualification: At least Higher Secondary (10+2)pass Required Experience: Preference will be given to candidates with experience in rice production or farming and rice machinery operations. Experience in organizing Farmers meetings and community mobilization would be an added advantage. 
Note: The incumbent must possess a valid driving license and motor bike as the job would require extensive local travel in rural areas.
Remuneration: Rs.1.80 to 2.19 lakhs per year

16. Number of Posts: Project Associate- Fishery -AAU
Number of Posts: 4 various locations
Educational Qualification: Post Graduate Degree (full time, minimum two years duration) in Fisheries Science (MFSc) from any Govt, recognized University/institutions.
Required Experience: Having at least 2 (two) years professional experience of working in fisheries value chains including farm management/ managing large scale fish production operations and knowledge of fish culture practices, principles of extension education, field trials and seed production etc., will be prereferred.
Remuneration: Rs.4.80 lakh to Rs.6.18 lakhs per year
