ASSAM – NORTHEAST CURRENT AFFAIRS

• While inaugurating a state-of-the-art hatchery of the Assam Livestock and Poultry Corporation ,(a Government of Assam undertaking) Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal, said “The economy of the state will make significant headway only when the agriculture sector is properly strengthened. Livestock farming, which is an integral part of our agriculture sector, has huge market within the state and outside. The abundant resources available in the state must be capitalised using the latest technology to provide opportunities for dignified source of earning to our youth.”

• State Labour and Employment Minister Pallab Lochan Das inaugurated askill development programme under the Assam Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board at the NEDFi Convention Centre 

• The Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of Arunachal Pradesh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the North East Institute of Fashion Technology (NEIFT), Guwahati to give air hostess/cabin crew training to 30 candidates. The course will start from the 1st week of July 2018.

• The State Bank of India SBI announced the launch of its UK subsidiary, SBI (UK) Limited, with an initial capital commitment of 225 million pounds

• Christian Sewing was apponted as the new CEO of Deutsche Bank
• National Safe Motherhood Day in India on every 11th day April
