ASSAM – NORTHEAST CURRENT AFFAIRS

• As per Assam Govt data the total number of registered educated job seekers in the employment exchanges of Assam was 16,65,866 as on December 31, 2017, out of which the total number of unskilled job seekers are 2,97,510 . Among the registered educated people in the employment exchanges, over 3.17 lakh are graduates and over 16,500 are post-graduates.

• In the ongoing Assam Legislative Assembly,  Transport Minister CM Patowary said that almost 2,300 posts are currently lying vacant in the Assam Transport Department.
• Dhubri district soon to be open defecation free state
• Lakshminath Bezbaroa Divas was observed at the Lakshminath Bezbaroa Park, Sivasagar on March 26.
