Central Government keen to fill Backlog vacancies of Assam State Government and PSUs within a year
Some positive news for unemployed youth of Assam. Backlog vacancies of reserved category viz. ST, SC soon to be filled as stated by Ramdas Athawale, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment. Athawale said in a meeting held at Guwahati that Central Government soon to fill the backlog vacancies of Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) posts in Assam.

Ramdas Athawale said “Various departments of the State government had a backlog of 3,603 SC posts of which 673 posts have been filled up under a special drive. Similarly of a total backlog of 9,993 ST posts of which 1,071 posts have been filled and the government is in the process to fill the rest of the posts within one year as I was informed,”
The Minister said that PSU’s like BSNL, Airport Authority of India (AAI), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and NF Railways have assured him to fill the backlog within a year.
