1. AFCAT Entry

Eligibility for IAF AFCAT Recruitment 2026
Educational Qualification:
Flying Branch:
Candidates should have mandatorily passed with Mathematics and Physics at 10+2 level AND Graduation with minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University. OR BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognised University. OR Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University.
Ground Duty (Technical) Branch:
A) Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics){AE (L)}. Candidates should have passed with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level. Candidates who have undergone MSc Electronics with BSc in Physics OR a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from recognized University OR cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India OR Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies in the following disciplines:

GATE Score Entry:
l Engineer (Mechanical) {AE (M)}. The candidates must have completed Bachelor of Engineering(BE)/ Bachelor of Technology (B Tech) degree from 133 disciplines mentioned in para A and B above and qualified in any of the 10 disciplines of GATE exam as given below are eligible for GATE Score Entry. Candidates can register with GATE score obtained within three years preceding from the date of commencement of course.
Marital Status: Candidates must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course and marriage is not permitted during training. A candidate who marries during the period of training shall be terminated and will be liable to refund all expenditure incurred on him/her by the Government.
Required Age for IAF AFCAT Recruitment 2026
Flying Branch through AFCAT and NCC Special Entry: 20 to 24 years as on 01 July 2027 i.e. born between 02 July 2003 to 01 July 2007 (both dates inclusive). Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 years i.e. born between 02 July 2001 to 01 July 2007 (both dates inclusive).
Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch: All Ground Duty Branches including Technical Branch through (AFCAT) and Ground Duty (Technical) Branch through Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) Score Entry: 20 to 26 years as on 01 July 2027 i.e. born between 02 July 2001 to 01 July 2007 (both dates inclusive).

Step 6: Make to payment of your respective application fee.

Application Fee:
Online examination will be conducted for AFCAT entry at various centers. Candidates registering for AFCAT entry will have to pay an amount of Rs. 550/- + GST (non-refundable) as examination fee . However, candidates registering for NCC Special entry are not required to pay.
