    • Exercise Tiger Triumph:
      • It is an India-U.S. tri-service Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Exercise.
    • 6th BIMSTEC Summit is being held in Bangkok
      • PM Modi launched BODHI initiative (BIMSTEC for Organized Development of Human Resource Infrastructure)
        • Under this initiative 300 youths will be annually trained in India.

    • Indus Waters Treaty:
      • Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, and the then President of Pakistan, Mohammad Ayub Khan, on September 19, 1960. The treaty was signed in Karachi, Pakistan
      • Provisions of Indus Water Treaty 1960-
        • Ravi, Sutlej and Beas were allocated to India for exclusive use.
        • Western rivers – Indus, Jhelum, and Chenab were allocated to Pakistan.
          • But India was allowed to use about 25% of the Indus, Jhelum, Chenab water for some specific purpose like irrigation, power generation and transport.
        • Indus commission- a permanent body was established to resolve any dispute in future.
        • The Indus Water Treaty 1960 between India and Pakistan was brokered by the World Bank.
      • Simla Agreement:
        • The Shimla Agreement was signed by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Pakistani President Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in July 1972, following a war between India and Pakistan in 1971(Bangladesh Liberation war).
        • The Simla Agreement was signed after Pakistan’s military defeat and the creation of Bangladesh.
        • Diplomatic recognition to Bangladesh by Pakistan.
        • Refrain from seeking third-party mediation: Any outstanding issues including dispute on Jammu and Kashmir between India and Pakistan will be resolved through bilateral negotiations.
        • Respect territorial integrity of each other, avoid altering the status quo.
      • Smart Cities Mission (SCM) deadline ended:
        • The Mission had sought to make 100 selected cities “smart” in five years (2015-2020).
        • Smart Cities Mission (SCM) deadline finally ended on March 31, 2025.
      • Technology and Innovation Report 2025:
        • India has been ranked 10th in the world with significant private investments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in 2023, according to the 2025 Technology and Innovation Report
        • Released by the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
          • UNCTAD is an intergovernmental organisation.
      • Monetary Policy Review:
        • Monetary Policy Committee was established in 2016 by amending RBI Act 1934.
        • According to it, Monetary Policy will decided by a 6 member body
          • RBI Governor 2. RBI Deputy Governor 3. RBI official 4. 3 members appointed by the government.
          • Decision taken by voting on majority of votes. In case of tie RBI governor will have deciding vote.
      • Niveshak Didi” initiative
        • The initiative trains women postal workers (a female dakiya) and community leaders to act as financial educators within their local regions.
        • It aims to promote financial literacy ‘By the women, for the women’.
        • The initiative was launched by India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) in collaboration with Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA).
        • IEPFA and IPPB have signed a MoA to jointly launch Phase 2 of the “Niveshak Didi” initiative.
      • Special 301 report:
        • Under this report countries are classified on the basis of protection given in their respective country to intellectual property rights.
        • 3 categories under watch 1. Priority Foreign Countries (PFC) – Red Flag 2. Priority Watch List (PWL) – Serious offenders 3. Watch List (WL) – Less serious offenders
        • The US Trade Representative’s (USTR) 2025 has placed India on its ‘priority watch list’.
      • Fram2 Polar Orbiting Mission:
        • SpaceX successfully launched a private 4 astronauts crew on a polar-orbiting mission.

      • National Quantum Mission (NQM):
        • The Union Cabinet, approved the National Quantum Mission (NQM) on 19th April 2023 at a total cost of Rs.6003.65 crore from 2023-24 to 2030-31,
        • Goal of mission is to establish a quantum computer with a capacity of 20-50 qubits in next three years, 50-100 qubits in next five years and 50-1000 qubits in next 10 years.
      • Biomass Mission:
        • The European Space Agency (ESA) is preparing to launch Biomass Mission.
      • Sarvam AI:
        • In March 2024 Union Cabinet approved the IndiaAI Mission with an outlay of Rs 10,372 crore for the next five years.
        • Indian AI startup Sarvam has unveiled its flagship Large Language Model (LLM), Sarvam-M. The LLM is a 24-billion-parameter open-weights hybrid language.
      • Similipal Tiger Reserve is 107th National Park:
        • It is in Mayurbhanj District of Odisha in Chotanagpur region.
        • It is the 107th National Park and the second in Odisha, after the Bhitarkanika.
      • Mahatma Jyotiba Phule:
        • Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to social reformer Mahatma Jyotirao Phule on his birth anniversary.
        • He is renowned for his relentless fight against caste discrimination and gender inequality.
        • Despite societal barriers, he pursued education which exposed him to progressive Western ideas that shaped his reformist vision.
        • Founded this “Society of Truth Seekers” to promote social equality and challenge caste oppression.
        • Savitribai Phule: She was wife of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule. • One of India’s first generation modern feminists
        • She became the first female teacher in India in 1848 and opened a school for girls along with her husband, social reformer Jyotirao Phule.
      • Pope Francis died:
        • Pope Francis (Jorge Mario Bergoglio), spiritual leader of the Roman Catholic Church, has passed away.
        • Born in Argentina, he became the first Latin American and Jesuit pope, serving from 2013 until his death.
        • Pope Francis was the 266th pope, serving from 2013 until his death in 2025.
      • Bhagavad Gita and Natyashastra:
        • UNESCO’s Memory of the World Programme
        • Launched in 1992.
        • The programme aims to preserve valuable archives, documents, manuscripts, oral traditions, audio-visual materials etc.
        • The manuscripts of the Bhagavad Gita and Bharata’s Natyashastra have been added to UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register among 74 new entries.

      • New Pamban Bridge:
        • The Pamban Rail Bridge also known as the Rameswaram Bridge was opened in 1914.
        • This 2.08-kilometer structure, stretching across the Palk Strait, is the country’s first vertical-lift sea bridge
        • The new Pamban Bridge, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, on April 6.
      • Project Varsha:
        • To develop a secure underground base to house a fleet of over 12 nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines (SSBNs).
        • Location: Coastal village Rambilli in Andhra Pradesh.
      • Jatra Utsav in Tripura
        • Tripura government has decided to organise Jatra Utsav in order to preserve traditional culture.
        • It is a popular folk theatre of Bengal and Odisha.
      • Earthquakes in NER:
        • A massive 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar, causing widespread destruction, particularly in the city of Mandalay.
        • Strike-Slip Faulting: The Myanmar earthquake was caused by a type of faulting known as “strike-slip faulting” along the Sagaing fault.
        • The Sagaing Fault, spanning 1,500 km through Myanmar.
        • Assam is highly seismically active due to its location near the Indian and Eurasian plate
        • Major faults influencing Assam’s seismicity:

        • Two climbers have successfully scaled one of the three unnamed peaks in Eastern Ladakh, set to be named after Bir Lachit Barphukan.
      • Theological Centre in Karbi Anglong:
        • The Chief Minister announced several initiatives during the second edition of the Aron Barim Armu Chingrum Amaipi programme at Taralangso in Karbi Anglong.
        • Rs 10 crore for a theological centre to research the Aron Barim indigenous faith.
        • Rs 10,000 one-time financial assistance for priests of the indigenous faith.

      • Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council:
        • The Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC) was constituted by the Government of Assam in 1995.
        • It was constituted for development in the areas of economic, educational, sociocultural and ethnic identity of Rabha people residing in the council area.
        • RHAC has different tribes such as Rabha, Bodo, Garo, Hajong etc.
        • Currently the RHAC head office is located at Dudhnoi, Assam.
        • Maharaj Dodan is believed to be the forefather of the Rabha Tribe.
      • New Frog Species:
        • On the edge of Guwahati, scientists have discovered a stunning new frog species Leptobrachium aryatium, in Garbhanga
