The Assam Government has announced that the interview process for 5,734 vacancies in Assam Police and various allied departments will begin on February 1. The recruitment drive covers multiple departments, including Assam Police, Assam Police Radio Organization (APRO), Forest Department, Fire and Emergency Services, Home Guards and Civil Defence, and the Prison Department. More than 10 lakh candidates have reportedly applied for these vacancies. Eligibility Details of Assam Police Recruitment

Constable (UB): Candidates must have passed HS (Class XII) from a government-recognized Board or Council.

Constable (AB): Candidates must have passed HSLC (Class X) from a government-recognized Board or Council.

Sub Inspector (UB), Sub Inspector (AB) and Assistant Jailor: A Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, Science, Commerce, or an equivalent stream from a recognized university is required.

Station Officer and Squad Commander: Candidates must possess a B.Sc. degree with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) from a recognized institution affiliated with a recognized university.

Sub Inspector of Police (Communication): Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications:

B.Sc. in Electronics Science, IT or Computer Science (10+2+3 pattern).
A three-year diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication, Electronics, IT, Instrumentation, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent discipline, along with either two years of relevant work experience or two additional years of relevant coursework.
Master of Computer Applications (MCA).
B.E./B.Tech. in Electronics and Telecommunication, Computer Engineering, Instrumentation, IT, or an equivalent discipline.

Jail Warder: Candidates must have passed HSLC or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board or Council.

Forester Grade-I: A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification is required.

Driver Constable, Constable (Dispatch Rider/Messenger/Handymen), Driver and Driver Operator: Candidates must have passed HSLC or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board or Council. A valid driving licence for LMV, MMV or HMV is required for the specified driver-related posts. For Driver and Driver Operator in F&ES, an HMV driving licence is mandatory.

Safai Karmachari: Candidates must have passed at least Class VI, while the maximum educational qualification permitted is HSSLC (Class XII).

Forest Guard, Game Watcher and Constable (UB) in APRO: Candidates must have passed H.S. (Class XII) or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board or Council.

AFPF Constable, Constable (Grade-III), Bandman (Constable) and Bugler: Candidates must have passed HSLC or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board or Council.

Sub-Officer and Constable (WO/WT): Candidates must have passed H.S. (Science) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), securing passing marks in all three subjects.

Fireman and Emergency Rescuer: Candidates must have passed H.S. (Science) from a recognized Board or Council.

Boatman: Candidates must have passed HSLC or an equivalent examination from a government-recognized Board and possess swimming proficiency.

Pharmacist: Candidates must hold a Diploma in Pharmacy from a Government Medical College and be registered with the Assam Pharmacy Council.

Nurse: A Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) from a Government Medical College is required.

Multitasking and Maintenance Staff-I (Technical)/Grade IV: Candidates must have passed at least Class VIII, with the maximum qualification limited to HSSLC (Class XII). A minimum one-year certificate course from a recognized Industrial Training Institution (ITI) or vocational institute is also required.

Multitasking and Maintenance Staff-II (Non-Technical): Candidates must have passed at least Class VIII, with the maximum qualification limited to HSSLC (Class XII). Additionally, they must possess either a training certificate issued by a Sector Skill Council (SSC) or at least one year of work experience certified by a recognized or registered institution.

Constable (UB & AB): 18–26 Years.
Driver Constable; Constable (Dispatch Rider/Messenger/Handymen) in APRO; Driver and Driver Operator in F&ES; Driver Constable in Forest Department; AFPF Constable; Constable (WO/WT & UB); Fireman; Emergency Rescuer; Boatman; Grade IV in Assam Commando Battalions: 18–25 Years.
Driver in Forest Department; Safai Karmachari; Jail Warder; Constable (Grade-III); Bandman (Constable); Bugler; Forester Grade-I; Game Watcher; Forest Guard; Grade IV in Assam Police, F&ES and DGCD & CGHG: 18–40 Years
Sub Inspector (UB) and Sub Inspector of Police (Communication): 20–26 Years.
Station Officer; Squad Commander; Sub Inspector (AB) in Commando Battalions; Sub-Officer: 20–24 Years.
Assistant Jailor: 21–40 Years.
