AIIMS Guwahati Recruitment Details
1. Professor
No of Posts: 17 Posts
Salary: Level 14-A of the 7 th CPC Pay Matrix (Rs.37,400-67,000+AGP Rs.10,500/- as per 6th CPC)
For Medical Candidates:
Educational Qualification:
- A medical Qualification included in the I or II schedule or part II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (Persons possessing qualifications included in part II of third schedule should also fulfil the conditions specified in section 13(3) of the Act.)
- A postgraduate qualification e.g. MD/MS or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline/subject. AND/OR
- M.Ch. for surgical super specialities and D.M. for Medical super specialities (2 years or 3 years or 5 years recognized course) or qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
Experience:
- Fourteen years teaching and/or research experience in recognized Institution in the subject of speciality after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.D./M.S. or qualification recognized equivalent thereto. OR
- Twelve years teaching and/or research experience in recognized Institute in the subject of speciality after obtaining the Degree of M.Ch./D.M. (2 years or 5 years course recognized after MBBS) in the respective discipline/subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto. OR
- Eleven years teaching and/or research experience in recognized Institution in the subject of speciality for the candidates possessing 3 years recognized Degree of D.M/M. Ch in the respective discipline/subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
For Non Medical Candidates:
Educational Qualification:
- Postgraduate qualification. Master degree in the Anatomy: -M.Sc. (Medical Anatomy), Pharmacology: – M.Sc. (Medical Pharmacology / Pharmacology) and Microbiology: -M.Sc. (Medical Microbiology).
- A Doctorate degree of a recognized University in concerned discipline.
Experience: Fourteen years teaching and/or research experience in the discipline/subject concerned after obtaining the Doctorate degree.
2. Additional Professor
No of Posts: 16 Posts
Salary: Level 13-A2+ of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix (Rs.37,400-67,000+AGP Rs.9,500/- as per 6th CPC)
For Medical Candidates:
Educational Qualification:
- A medical Qualification included in the I or II schedule or part II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (Persons possessing qualifications included in part II of third schedule should also fulfil the conditions specified in section 13(3) of the Act.)
- A postgraduate qualification e.g. MD/MS or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline/subject.
Experience: Ten years teaching and/or research experience in recognized Institution in the subject of speciality after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.D. /M.S. or qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
For super speciality disciplines:
- Same as Professor (Medical)
- D.M. in the respective discipline/subject for medical super specialities and M.Ch. in the respective discipline/subject for surgical super specialities (2 years or 3 years or 5 years recognized course) or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto. Experience: Eight years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of speciality after obtaining the qualifying degree of D.M./ M.Ch. (2 years or 5 years recognized course after MBBS) in the respective discipline/subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto. OR
- Seven years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of speciality for the candidates possessing 3 years recognized degree of D.M. / M.Ch. in the respective discipline/subject or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
For Non Medical Candidates:
Educational Qualification:

- A postgraduate qualification e.g. MD/MS or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline/subject.

For super speciality disciplines:

For Non Medical Candidates:

Salary: Level 12 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix (Rs.15,600-39,100+AGP 8,000/- as per 6th CPC).
For Medical Candidates(for General Discipline):
Educational Qualification:
- A medical Qualification included in the I or II schedule or part II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (Persons possessing qualifications included in part II of third schedule should also fulfil the conditions specified in section 13(3) of the Act.)
- A postgraduate qualification e.g. MD/MS or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline/subject.
Experience: Three years teaching and/or research experience in recognized Institution in the subject of speciality after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.D. /M.S. or qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
For super speciality disciplines:
Educational Qualification:
- Same as Professor (Medical)
- D.M. in the respective discipline/subject for medical super specialities and M.Ch. in the respective discipline/subject for surgical super specialities (2 years or 3 years or 5 years recognized course) or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
Experience: One years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized Institution in the subject of speciality after obtaining the qualifying degree of D.M./M.Ch. (2 years or 5 years recognized course after MBBS) or qualification recognized equivalent thereto. However, no experience is necessary for the candidates possessing the 3 years recognised degree of D.M/M.Ch. or qualification recognised equivalent thereto.
For Non Medical Candidates:
Educational Qualification:
- Postgraduate qualification. Master degree in the Anatomy: -M.Sc. (Medical Anatomy), Pharmacology: – M.Sc. (Medical Pharmacology / Pharmacology) and Microbiology: -M.Sc. (Medical Microbiology).

Experience: Three years teaching and/or research experience in the discipline/subject concerned after obtaining the Doctorate degree
Age Limits for AIIMS Guwahati Recruitment
Professor/Additional Professor: Not exceeding 58 (Fifty-Eight) years as on the last date of the online application i.e. 30 days from the date of the publication of this advertisement on the institution website.
Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor: Not exceeding 50 (Fifty) years as on the last date of the online application i.e., 30 days from the date of the publication of this advertisement on the institution website.
Age Relaxation:
Upper age limit shall be determined as on last date of submission of online applications.
No age relaxation would be available to SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates applying for unreserved vacancies.
Age relaxation permissible to various categories is as under:
