• The Guwahati Smart City Limited (GSCL) to set up ‘Smart Bio Toilets’ at major locations across the Guwahati city under the Smart City Mission

• Assam Medical Service Recruitment Board has been constituted for recruiting doctors. Through this board the government hopes to recruit around 500 doctors

• India’s tallest Flag has been unfurled in Belagavi of Karnataka
• President Ram Nath Kovind has inaugurated the World Hindi Secretariat in Mauritius
• The first regional conference on ‘Mass Rapid Transport System (MRTS) for Urban Areas – Opportunities and Challenges was held in Kolkata, West Bengal 
• March 14 marks the birthday of Albert Einstein
• March 14 is observed as Pi Day, the day each year when scientists and mathematicians celebrate the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter.

• the legendary theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking (76) from United Kingdom has passed away. Mr Hawking was the author of popular science book ‘A Brief History of Time’
• The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has been awarded the International Kochon Prize 2017.
