IIT Guwahati Recruitment Details:

1. Junior Technician

No. of Post: 06 Posts [UR: 5, EWS: 1]

Department wise Vacancies:

• Infrastructure Planning & Management (IPM): 03
• Central Workshop: 02
• Central Instruments Facility (CIF): 01

Scale of Pay: 3 (As per 7th CPC)

Required Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field or Diploma in Engineering of three years’ duration in appropriate field or ITI with 3 years’ experience. Knowledge of computer applications.

Departments/ Centres/Schools will be at liberty to decide on one or more or all the qualifications mentioned above as per the requirement of the job.

Infrastructure Planning & Management (IPM): ITI Certificate Course in Electrician Trade with 3 years’ experience in operation of 33 / 11 KV, 11/0.433 KV substation and DG sets. N.B.- ITI certificate course after completion of 10th standard shall be considered.

Central Workshop:

• ITI Certificate in Carpentry with 3 years’ experience.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering OR ITI certificate in Turner with 3 years’ experience in operating CNC machines.

Central Instruments Facility (CIF): Bachelor’s Degree in Science in Physics/ Chemistry or Minimum Diploma/ Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering/Engineering Physics, Biotechnology/Chemical Engineering.

• Desirable: Minimum 1 year hands-on experience of operating analytical equipment in an Industry/ Academic Institute/ Research Institute.

Age: Up to 27 years. (No upper age limit for regular employees of IIT Guwahati). Relaxation of age is as per Govt. of India rule.
