Sub Districts of Assam Details
The Government of Assam has published the notification of Sub-Districts which will be become functional from 4th October, 2024. For the convenience of the citizens of Assam the Assam State Government bifurcated the existing districts into 39 sub districts. The Sub-Districts are called as “Xama-Zilla” in Assamese. The District wise breakup as well as the administrative structure of newly created sub-districts of Assam is given below. You may check the detail notification as given below. Administrative structure of newly created sub-districts of Assam
The newly created Assam sub districts will be administered by an Additional District Commissioner. The total strength of official staff is around 53-54 numbers including Class I and Class II officers. The departments like Personnel Department, General Administration Department, Food, PD & CA Department, Excise Department, Revenue & Disaster Management Department, T & D Department and Finance Department will be in the sub districts.
