The Dibrugarh University has published a notification regarding Phd Admission for the academic session 2023-2024. The Dibrugarh University will conduct an Entrance Test (DURAT) for selection of students for various departments. Eligibility Criteris for Dibrugarh University Phd Entrance Test
- A candidate seeking admission to the Programme for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) shall have to obtain at least 55% marks in Master’s Degree OR equivalent Grade point.
- Relaxation upto 5% marks may be availed by the candidates belonging to the reserved categories.
- In general, 50% of the seats in each subject shall be filled up from DURAT qualified candidates and remaining 50% from the DURAT exempted candidates. However, the concerned DRC will try to accommodate candidates from the DURAT qualified and DURAT exempted candidates judiciously depending on interview performance, area or specialization/interest of the candidates, area of specialization of the prospective supervisor etc.
Exemption from DURET 2023
The candidates who have qualified the CSIR-NET (both LS and JRF), UGC-NET (both LS and JRF), SLET/SET (NE Region), GATE, GPAT, M.Phil (in Regular Mode and in the concerned subject), Teacher fellowship holder are exempted from appearing the DURAT. However, these candidates have to apply for admission as per the University Notification. These candidates have to appear a viva-voce/ interview for getting selection for admission.
Admission Process of DURAT 2023 Exam
The list of the candidates short listed for Viva-Voce shall be notified by the concerned Department/Centre of Studies in the University website: www.dibru.ac.in.
There shall be a Viva Voce Examination for all the candidates as per the following details:
- For 30 % weightage for the candidates qualified in the DURAT 2023
- For 100% weightage for the candidates who are exempted from appearing the DURAT 2023
On completion of the Viva-Voce, the Teaching Departments/ Centres of Studies concerned shall prepare the Final Merit Lists for admission, which shall be notified in the University website along-with the date(s) for admission.
The candidates selected for admission shall have to deposit their Admission and Course Fees of Rs. 6,000/- only (Rs. 2000/- for the M.Phil. Passed Candidates) through online mode at the time of admission.
How to Apply for DURAT 2023
- The applicants shall have to login to the Admission Portal given on the website https://dibru.ac.in using the same Mobile Number and Password provided during online application for DURAT 2023 and click on the Apply button corresponding to “Ph. D. Admission”. After filling-up the online form, they need to click the “Submit” button and make a payment of Rs 750/- through online mode. Once the Application Fee is successfully paid, they will be able to download the submitted Application Form and take a Printout.
- The applicants need to submit the Print-Copy of the application form along with the following self-attested documents at the Office of the Department/ Centre of Studies concerned where they wish to apply for the Ph.D. Programme –
- Copies of the Pass Certificates and Mark Sheets from HSLC to Master’s Degree.
- Copy of the DURAT 2023 Score card.
- Caste Certificate [in case the Candidate belongs to SC/ ST/ and OBC/MOBC (Non-Creamy layer)] or Certificates related to PWD and EWS.
- No Objection Certificate (in case the Candidate is employed).
For DURAT Exempted candidates:
The DURAT Exempted Candidates shall have to register and login to the Admission Portal given on the website https://dibru.ac.in and click on the Apply button corresponding to “Ph. D. Admission”. _After filling-up the online form, they need to click the “Submit” button and make a payment of Rs 750/-through online mode. Once the Application Fee is successfully paid, they will be able to download the submitted Application Form and take a Printout.
The applicants need to submit the Print-Copy of the application form along with the following self-attested documents at the Office of the Department/ Centre of Studies concerned where they wish to apply for the Ph.D. Programme
- Copy of the Award Letter (in case of CSIR/UGC NET-JRF qualified candidates and/or candidates having research fellowship from National level Government/Semi Government funding agencies).
- M.Phil. Pass Certificate and Marksheet (in case of M.Phil. qualified candidates).
- Copies of the Pass Certificate and Mark Sheets from HSLC to Master’s Degree.
- Caste Certificate [in case the Candidate belongs to SC/ ST and OBC/MOBC (Non-Creamy layer)] or Certificates related to PWD and EWS.
- No Objection Certificate (in case the Candidate is employed).
Please Note:
The Last date of receipt of hard copies of the documents at the concerned Departments/Centres of Studies: 06/11/2023 (till 5:00 pm).
