Chief Minister’s Fellow Programme
The Government of Assam has introduced the Chief Minister’s Fellows Programme under the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan (CMAAA) to encourage entrepreneurship and promote self-employment opportunities among the educated youth of Assam. The fellowship programme aims to engage talented and meritorious young professionals in mentoring unemployed youths and helping them transform their business ideas into successful enterprises.

Chief Minister’s Fellow Programme Details
Programme Name: Chief Minister’s Fellows
Initiative: Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan (CMAAA)
Number of Fellows: 256 Fellows. This number may change according to the requirements of CMAAA Society
Department: Department of Industries, Commerce & Public Enterprise
Remuneration: ₹6,00,000 per annum inclusive of 96,000 towards travelling expenses in first year.
Fellowship Duration: 24 Months
Posting Location: District and Sub-Divisional Headquarters across Assam.
Selection Process: Group Discussion and Interview.
Eligibility for Assam Chief Minister’s Fellow Programme
Applicants must fulfil the following educational and other eligibility requirements:
- Minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
- Have passion for public service & programme management.
- MBA/MBA equivalent degree/Masters in Social Sciences/Public Policy/ Development Studies from reputed university/institution.
- Students from IM/IIT/IRMA/TISS/NIRD, etc.. to be preferred.
- Proficiency in local languages of Assam, English and Hindi.
Language and Computer Skills: Applicants shall possess proficiency in the local languages of Assam, English and Hindi, along with strong oral and written communication skills. They shall also possess adequate knowledge of and proficiency in computer applications required for the effective and efficient discharge of their assigned duties and responsibilities.
Job Responsibility of Assam CM Fellow Programme
Selected fellows will have the opportunity to work closely with the senior leadership of the Government of Assam and gain valuable experience in government administration and programme implementation.
They will play an important role in mentoring potential entrepreneurs and strengthening their capabilities to develop sustainable business ideas into successful enterprises.
The fellows will also engage directly with entrepreneurs under the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan (CMAAA), helping them improve their business proposals and develop the necessary capacity to become creditworthy and secure financial assistance from financial institutions.
