RRB NTPC Recruitment Details

1. Assistant Loco Pilot(ALP)

No of Posts: 3548 Posts

  • Chief Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor: 127
  • Goods Train Manager: 2750
  • Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist: 300
  • Senior Clerk Cum Typist: 371

No of posts under RRB Guwahati: 104 posts

Scale of Pay: level 5 and 6 in 7th CPC with other allowances including-

  • House Rent Allowance (HRA)
  • Dearness Allowance (DA)
  • Running Allowance (Based on the km travelled)
  • Transport Allowance
  • New Pension Scheme (10% Deduction) etc.

Educational Qualification: Graduate Degree from recognized University or its equivalent.

Age Limit for RRB NTPC Recruitment

Age: Candidates applying for the post of RRB NTPC must be between 18 and 33 years of age as on 1st January 2027. In other words, applicants should fall within the prescribed age limit at the time of submitting the online application form. Lower age limit as on 01.01.2027 (not born after 01.01.2009)

Step 1: Visit the important link section and click on Apply Now.

Step 2: Click on for New Registration .

Step 3: Insert the details of yours as asked for.

Step 4: After a successful registration click on Login and enter your id and Password.

Step 5: Filled the details and upload the necessary document such as Passport Photo, Signature etc.

Step 6: Make to payment of your respective application fee.

Step 7: Save or take a print out of the acknowledgement receipt for further references.

RRB NTPC Recruitment Exam Fee

Candidates will have to pay the prescribed fee as per their community/category detailed below:

For UR/OBC/MOBC Categories: Out of this fee of ₹ 500/-, an amount of ₹ 400/- shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges as applicable, on appearing in 1st stage CBT.

For SC/ST/EWS/Female/PwBD Categories: This fee of Rs 250/- shall be refunded in due course duly deducting bank charges as applicable, on appearing in 1st Stage CBT.

RRB NTPC Selection Process 2026

The recruitment process shall comprise of the following stages:

  • First Stage CBT (CBT-1)
  • Second Stage CBT (CBT-2)
  • Document Verification (DV)

FIRST STAGE CBT (CBT-1):

(A) Mathematics: Number System, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportions, Percentage, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Elementary Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics etc.

(B) General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analogies, Completion of Number and Alphabetical Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Similarities and Differences, Relationships, Analytical Reasoning, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagrams, Puzzle, Data Sufficiency, Statement Conclusion, Statement- Courses of Action, Decision Making, Maps, Interpretation of Graphs etc

(C) General Awareness: Current Events of National and International Importance, Games and Sports, Art and Culture of India, Indian Literature, Monuments and Places of India, General Science and Life Science (up to 10th CBSE), History of India and Freedom Struggle, Physical, Social and Economic Geography of India and World, Indian Polity and Governance- constitution and political system, General Scientific and Technological Developments including Space and Nuclear Program of India, UN and Other important World Organizations, Environmental Issues Concerning India and World at Large, Basics of Computers and Computer Applications, Common Abbreviations, Transport Systems in India, Indian Economy, Famous Personalities of India and World, Flagship Government Programs, Flora and Fauna of India, Important Government and Public Sector Organizations of India etc.

Minimum Qualifying Marks for FIRST STAGE CBT (CBT-1):

These percentages of qualifying marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2 Marks for PwBD candidates in case of shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.

SECOND STAGE CBT (CBT-2):

Shortlisting of candidates for CBT-2 shall be done RRB-wise and community-wise as per their normalized marks and merit in CBT-1 among the candidates who have chosen the same RRB only.

Total number of candidates to be shortlisted for CBT-2 shall be limited to 15 (fifteen) times the number of vacancies notified against each RRB.

Document verification and Empanelment:

Shortlisting of candidates for Document Verification and empanelment will be made strictly on merit based on the performance of the candidate in the CBT subject to securing minimum qualifying marks prescribed for their communities. Minimum qualifying mark prescribed for UR/EWS is 40%, OBC (Non creamy layer) and SC is 30% and ST is 25%. This is also applicable to Ex. Servicemen and PwBD category candidates, as per their community. If sufficient candidates for PwBD are not available 2 marks relaxation in minimum qualifying marks will be given.
