Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya (MSSV), Nagaon, Assam has released an official recruitment notification for 19 faculty positions under the Four-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) for B.A. B.Ed. and B.Sc. Essential Qualifications:
Professor in Education or Associate Professor in Education (as Head of the Department):
- Postgraduate degree in Sciences or Mathematics or Social Sciences or Languages.
- M.Ed.
- Ph.D. in Education
- Ten years of teaching experience in a teacher education institution for Professor and eight years for Associate Professor.
- Any other relevant qualification prescribed by the University Grants Commission for these categories of post.

Educational Qualification:
Assistant Professor –in Liberal Discipline and Pedagogy:
- Post-Graduate degree in Sciences (Physics or Chemistry or Botany or Zoology or Life Sciences or Bioscience) or Mathematics or Social Sciences (History or Geography or Political Science or Economics) or Languages (English or Modern Indian Languages or Classical Languages) with minimum fifty-five percent marks or its equivalent grade.
- B.Ed. degree with minimum fifty-five percent marks or equivalent grade.
- National Eligibility Test or State Level Eligibility Test or Doctor of Philosophy in Education or in the concerned subject as prescribed by the University Grants Commission for these categories of posts.
- Desirable: M.Ed. or M.Ed with specialization. Ph.D. in Education.
Assistant Professor in Educational Studies:
- Postgraduate degree in Education (M.Ed.) with minimum fifty-five percent marks or equivalent grade.
- With National Eligibility Test or State Level Eligibility Test or Doctor of Philosophy in Education or anyother qualification prescribed by University Grants Commission for these categories of posts.
- Desirable: Master’s degree in Psychology or Philosophy or Sociology or their allied subjects.
Assistant Professor (Health & Physical Education): M.P.Ed. with minimum 55% marks.
Assistant Professor (Art Education): Postgraduate Degree in Performing Arts/Visual Arts with minimum 55% marks.
Important Conditions:
Candidates must fulfil the qualifications prescribed under the NCTE Regulations, 2021, UGC Regulations and applicable Government of Assam norms. Mere possession of the minimum qualification does not guarantee an interview call, as MSSV reserves the right to shortlist candidates.
The university may also increase or decrease the number of vacancies or cancel the advertisement. Original documents must be produced during the interview, and any suppression of facts or submission of false information may result in cancellation of candidature.
