How to Apply For Claims and Objections Application in NRC For Sonitpur District – Tezpur the 30th July, 2018 Whereas, for the purpose of updating NRC. 1951 in Assam, application forms were invited and received from the public up to 31st August, 2015 after which the scrutiny and verification of applications has been under taken in accordance with the Citizenship rules (Registration of Citizens and issue of National Identity Cards) Rules . 2013; And whereas, as per this office order No.NRC.10/2017/6 Dated 30th December, 2017, Part draft NRC was published on expiry of the midnight of 31st December. 2017. As such, as per provisions contained in Clause 4(2) of the Schedule to the Citizenship (Registration of Citizens and issue of National Identity Cards) Rules. 2013, I hereby cause to publish, the village / ward wise complete Draft NRC (Consolidated list) by the respective Local Registrar of Citizen Registration( LRCR) at 10 AM of 30th July 2018.



The complete Draft NRC will be published as one consolidated list (List of inclusions) including the names of such persons included in the part Draft NRC published on 31st December. 2017, whose status of verification has not changed subsequently. The LRCRs shall cause publication of the complete draft NRC of each village/ Ward under their respective NSKs as per PDFs received from Office of the State Coordinator, NRC.

How to Apply For Claims and Objections Application in NRC For Sonitpur District

The complete draft NRC will be available for inspection at the NSK up to 30th September, 2018 on all working days. Applicants may note that:

  1. Any fact of misrepresentation of particulars / documents discovered by the authorities rendering the person ineligible will lead to exclusion of the person from NRC.
  2. Receipt at point of time of opinion by any foreigners Tribunal Declaring any person as Foreigner, will lead to exclusion of person from NRC.
  3. There is a provision of verification (Re-verification) in respect of applicants (including persons in the Draft NRC) that may be considered necessary under provision of clause 4(3) of the Schedule appended to Rule 4A of the Citizenship Rules, 2003.
  4. Discovery of pendency of any reference made to any Foreigners Tribunal about applicant at any point of time before publication of Final NRC will render the status of inclusion as Hold for such person.
  5. Receipt at any point of time of decision by any Foreigner Tribunal or any judicial order declaring any person as Indian, will also lead to inclusion in Final NRC.
  6. Date of birth/age and place of birth are as per declaration given by the applicant. This can’t be used as a proof for any legal purposes and will be governed by relevant laws and rules in this regard.
  7. Applicants may approach the LRCR at their NRC Seva Kendra (NSK) from 7th August to 28th September, 2018 to know about the reason for non-inclusion in the Complete Draft NRC. Any person having any claim or objection or application for correction may apply, as per Form available at the NSK or downloaded from NRC Website www.nrcassam.nic.in and submit the same before the LRCR during the period 30th August, 2018 to 28th September, 2018, subject to the following condition:
    1. Only those applicants who submitted Application Form until 31st August 2015 can submit Claims.
    2. A valid ARN (Application Receipt Number) will be essential for submitting the Claim. Claim can be submitted with additional documents or with the same documents as submitted earlier.
    3. Objections can be submitted by any person. Objection will require submission of grounds for objection.
    4. Claims can only be submitted at the NRC Seva Kendra where the Claimant had earlier submitted the Application Form. Even if an applicant has changed address after submission of Application Form, Claim can be submitted only at the NSK where the NRC Application was submitted originally.
    5. Objections can be submitted only at the NSK covering the residence of the person against whom the objection has been submitted.
    6. Complete Draft or Final NRC will contain particulars of only those persons born up to the date of submission of the Application form (up to 31 st August 2015) and whose names were submitted in the Application Form. Inclusion of any children to an applicant after 31st August 2015 cannot be done through Claim. Similarly, if an applicant died after Application Form submission, his/her name in case eligible will not be excluded from the Complete Draft NRC.
