It is hereby informed students belonging to MINORITY COMMUNITIES, that online applications link is made available to apply for ‘VARIOUS SCHOLARSHIPS  FOR MINORITY COMMUNITIES  STUDENTS FOR THE SESSION 2017-18′. The scholarship programme was introduced under the  Prime Minister’s New 15 Point Programme for the Welfare of Minorities in June, 2006. It provides that a post-matric scholarship scheme for meritorious students from minority communities would be implemented.

Eligibility criteria:


Students belonging to Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain and Zoroastrians (Parsis) have been notified as minority communities under Section 2 (c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992. It is further noted that the distribution of scholarship among the States/Union Territories will be made on the basis of population of the above notified minorities in the States/ Union Territories based on Census 2001.

Renewal of scholarship:

The candidates selected for the SCHOLARSHIPS  FOR MINORITY COMMUNITIES, may apply for renewal of scholarship during the next academic year of the course on the production of certificate that the student has secured 50% marks in the examination.

How to Apply:

PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING FOR MINORITY SCHOLARSHIPS:

1.The scholarship scheme is implemented only under National Scholarship Portal (NSP). Students are required to apply online only through  the website of this Ministry i.e. scholarships.gov.in.

2. The list of the following documents are required to be scanned & uploaded for both Fresh and Renewal Scholarships as mentioned below for applying SCHOLARSHIPS  FOR MINORITY COMMUNITIES:

a) Photograph of the Student. (Mandatory).

b) Verification Form from Institution. (Mandatory).

c) Self declaration of Income Certificate by the student. (Mandatory).

d) Self declaration of community by the student. (Mandatory).

e) For Fresh Applicants: Self Attested Certificate of ‘Previous Academic Mark sheet’ as filled in Form. (Mandatory).

f) For Renewal: Self-Attested Certificate of Previous Year Mark sheet as filled in the Form. (Mandatory).

g) Fee Receipt of current course year from institution. (Mandatory).

h) Proof of Bank Account in the name of student. (Mandatory).

i) Aadhaar Card (optional-if available).

j) Residential /address Certificate. (Mandatory).
